Yoke. delivers architectural concept designs across a broad spectrum of projects, including residential, interior architecture, commercial and hospitality projects. Each concept presents a clearly resolved design vision, reflected through 3D architectural renderings that capture the essence and beauty of the future built outcome.  

Our concept work, shaped through projects that are underway in Queenstown, Arrowtown, Wanaka, Christchurch, Auckland and Melbourne, reflects the structured approach that we undertake, delivering a vision that is both robust in its architectural logic and sensitive to its wider urban or landscape setting.

During the concept design stage, our Directors collaboratively develop the primary architectural response. This includes early architectural design floor plans, massing studies, materiality explorations, and façade concept development. Our explorations are grounded in a rigorous, design-led methodology that prioritises contextual response, spatial coherence, and architectural integrity.

Attention is given to spatial hierarchy, planning and flow alongside the overall form and massing of the design. Circulation, daylighting, and the relationships between interior and exterior thresholds are treated as fundamental design drivers. We engage with each site through detailed analysis, ensuring that topography, orientation, and environmental conditions directly inform the emerging architectural strategy.

The design process typically begins with hand drawn conceptual plans and simple three-dimensional studies. As the concept progresses, these initial explorations are refined through more detailed architectural drawings and 3D modelling to provide a comprehensive foundation and inform the design direction before the detailed stages commence.

Our in-house renders, prepared by our architects & interiors team at the conclusion of the concept stage, serve as a visual reference for both our clients – and us. They clarify design intent, and help define expectations for the final built form, while expressing the potential of the project.
