Nestled under the Remarkables, the residence was conceived as a holiday house for two close families. Open, light spaces are offset by strong, dark material inserts – such as the steel and concrete fireplace, charcoal kitchen and moody tiled bathrooms. Grounded by a schist garage underneath, dark timber clad boxes form the living level with a strong monopitch roof elevating the response and maximising the expansive views
